How NodeGuard collects, uses and protects your personal data.

Last updated: 28 October 2026

1. Introduction

NodeGuard ("NodeGuard", "we", "our" or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data of our customers and website visitors. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have, across our website and our Cloud VPS, Web Hosting, WordPress Hosting and Secure VPN services. By using our services, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Account and billing information — name, company name (if applicable), email address, billing address, phone number, and payment details provided when you register or purchase a service.

Technical information — IP addresses, browser and device details, operating system, access logs, login timestamps, and general service usage statistics collected automatically as you use our website or services.

Support communications — records of support tickets, live chat conversations, emails, and abuse reports, kept so we can resolve issues and maintain a history of your account.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provision and operate the services you purchase
  • To manage your account and process billing
  • To verify identity and help prevent fraud
  • To respond to support requests and technical issues
  • To monitor network security and investigate abuse
  • To improve the reliability and performance of our platform
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations

We only process personal data where we have a lawful basis for doing so.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of the following bases: performing the contract for the service you've purchased; complying with a legal obligation; our legitimate interests in operating a secure, reliable service (including fraud prevention and abuse handling); and, where required, your consent — which you may withdraw at any time.

5. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar browser storage, in two groups. We never use cookies for advertising or remarketing. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, and you can also control cookies through your browser settings.

Necessary (always on). These are needed for the website and our support service to work, so they cannot be switched off in the cookie box:

  • Preferences: your light/dark theme, your language choice (ng-lang) and your cookie choice itself (ng-consent, kept for 12 months).
  • Live chat (Tawk.to): our live-chat support is provided by tawk.to, Inc. To make the chat window available on every page and keep your conversation connected as you move between pages, the Tawk.to widget loads for every visitor and sets its own cookies and local storage (names beginning with twk or Tawk). Tawk.to processes, on our behalf, technical information such as your IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, the page you are on and the page that referred you, plus anything you write in a chat. Our support team uses this to answer chats and to see, in real time, which pages visitors are viewing and where they arrived from. We rely on our legitimate interest in providing customer support and understanding how customers find us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Tawk.to may process this data outside the European Economic Area — see Section 11. More detail is in Tawk.to's privacy policy.

Analytics (only with your consent). If you allow it, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses, and we keep all advertising features switched off. These cookies (names beginning with _ga) are only set after you choose "Accept all" or switch Analytics on, and are deleted if you later switch Analytics off.

Our client area (my.nodeguard.io) also uses session cookies to keep you signed in.

6. Payment Information

Payments are handled by trusted third-party payment processors. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems. Our payment providers process payment data under their own privacy policies.

7. Hosting Data and Customer Content

You remain the owner of any content, files, or data you host with us. We do not routinely inspect customer content, and only access it where required by law, to investigate a specific abuse report, or to protect the security of our network.

8. Secure VPN Privacy

Operating our VPN service requires limited information such as account details, connection timestamps, and bandwidth usage. We do not inspect the content of your VPN traffic, except where required by law or necessary to protect the security and integrity of the service.

9. Service Logs

We maintain authentication, access, and network event logs for troubleshooting, security investigations, abuse prevention, and general service optimization.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with trusted service providers who help us with payment processing, infrastructure, fraud prevention, or technical support; with legal authorities where required by law, court order, or similar lawful request; and where necessary to protect our rights, our customers, or our infrastructure.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed or stored outside your country of residence. Where this applies, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, consistent with applicable data protection law.

12. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary to provide our services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Billing and security-related records may be retained for a period after account closure where reasonably necessary or legally required.

13. Security Measures

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards — including access controls, encryption where appropriate, monitoring, and authentication protections — to help keep personal data secure. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Your Rights

If you're located in the EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar protections, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; restrict or object to certain processing; request a portable copy of your data; and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

15. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed at, or intended for, individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors, and will delete such data if we become aware it has been provided.

16. Third-Party Links

Our website may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and encourage you to review their policies separately.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates take effect once published on our website, and continued use of our services after that point constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

18. Contact

For questions about this policy or to exercise your privacy rights, please reach us through our contact page. Please include enough information for us to verify your identity before we action a privacy request. Existing clients with account or technical support needs should use the ticket system in the client area.
